We went to DC for Labor Day weekend with our best friends, the Careys.
We visited all of our favorite spots: Georgetown for shopping, Zengo and Rosa Mexicana for delicious dinners, my favorite European breakfast spot (complete with Croque Madame and French Macarons), and much more!
DC is in my top 3 favorite US Cities- it is full of excitement and adventure. I love it!

Fall fashion
So now that the kids have gone back to school (not my kids- but kids in general ;) ), it feels like summer is over and it is time for Fall.
I love summer, but Fall is my most favorite season of all!
There are so many great styles out there for this upcoming season- I am ready to buy buy buy!
I'm going to post some great looks that I have found...

Traveling

After the past month of being non-stop busy with events, trips, traveling and living out of a suitcase- it feels strange to just be home and back into a 'schedule'.
I have the "itch" to pack and get on to the next adventure!
I need to take advantage of this time at home though...after next week I will be off to the Eastern Shore, then to North Carolina for a week, and then a 3-day event, a trip to Houston, a week in Greece, and then my parents visit us for 4th of July weekend! Craziness!
It's raining, it's pouring

The District

Just returned home from our anniversary weekend getaway to Washington DC!
We had a great time returning to our favorite hot spots while finding some great new ones as well.
Eric had reservations for us at 'The Source'- Wolfgang Puck's fine dining restaurant right in the heart of the Capital. It was amazing food with great atmosphere. When we arrived and were seated, there was a vase with 3 roses and a card from Eric waiting on our table. It was a perfect anniversary dinner with my sweetie- great job E :)
The rest of the weekend we spent time shopping at all my favorite stores in Georgetown: Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, Betsey Johnson, Juicy Couture, Zara, JCrew, and more. Plus Eric found the cutest European cafe called "Leopold's" that we ate at twice for breakfast; it was like being back in Paris- they had delicious pastries and French cuisine. Saturday night we went to our favorite Mexican spot- Rosa Mexicana- and then hit up a double feature at the movie theater next to the Verizon Center.
This morning, before we left DC, we decided to climb up to the Lincoln Memorial and say 'hey' to old Abe. It was a rainy day, but it's still always fun to see the memorials and sites of the Capital.
It was a great way to celebrate 3 wonderful years of marriage! Thanks to my sweet husband, Eric :)

Happy 3 Year Anniversary!

On the 29th of April, my wonderful husband, Eric, and I celebrated our 3rd year of marriage.
He made me breakfast in bed: eggs, bacon, hash browns, orange juice, coffee, along with a long stem red rose.
Later on at work, he brought me a dozen gorgeous red roses.
That night, he filled me in on the surprise weekend getaway that he planned.
We are going to Washington DC for the weekend and he booked us a hotel and made dinner reservations at a surprise location :)
I have the sweetest husband ever!

Egg Hunt

If there is one thing I miss on Easter, it is the family egg hunt! My parents would get up so early on Easter morning and my Dad would tactfully hide the eggs all over the house. My Mom always had a beautiful Easter basket full of goodies on the kitchen table for us.
As we hunted, my dad would say "you're getting warmer" when we were nearer to the hidden eggs, or "you're ice cold!" if we weren't even close. The eggs would be full of candy and money.
I did this every year with my sisters until I moved to Virginia.
I thought about trying it with Eric, but I don't think it would be quite as fun since one of us would have to hide the eggs, and only one of us could hunt for them- ha ha
I'm looking forward to doing the same thing with my kids one day!
